Graffiti Art has a more intense tradition than one maybe can think of. The graphic artist Spok has dedicated alsmost his entire life creating graffiti in the streets of Madrid / Spain. His own style is part of the city and walls, trains any possible paintable surface since late 80s. Graffiti as a feeling, part of life, a simpulse to travel form city to city, from Mexico to Japan, painting on amazinlgy different cities each with its own nature, but always being sealed with Graffiti stamps. Spok's style has gone through evolution to an own naughty style. The Montana Gallery is honoring Spok's work with an individual Exposition “Vertedero”. If you like Urban street art go an dvisit the expo, IT IS FREE! , you can visit the Expo until 31.01.2014 at the Montanat Gallery Have look and get inspired by this master art, lights and different setting-ups. What does come to your mind thinking of Street Art. Art, Grafitty, yes, got it. What else? YES the street, and what is definteley THE "Art on the street"? Exactly Skateboarding. Thinking BACK to those days, SK8 or die, to Tony Hawks, Titus, your old Playstation with the street pacours,.. Thinking NOWADAYS... You still skate, cool, go on. You don t? Just once in a while with the family onto the longboard? Not even? Well skateboarding is not a crime, never was, skate should not die. Nor the decks. Look what I found: Some great artist converting old decks into decoration (make them your kitchenshelves, or get back a deck with the loved old designs, you cannot find anymore, anywhere, any places! Because nothing should die, never! RESKATE Arts & Crafts: http://www.reskateboarding.com/gallery.html I seriously think to contact them to get my own motive "No Paki - No Pary" Graffiti onto a desk and use this as a shelf for the Martini & Alc bottles. This would be style! A friend of mine just shared with me some info about the first documentary movie about Streetart in Barcelona!
The screening is on 27th April 2013 at 8pm in the NIU : espai artístic contemporani, Barcelona. Admission is by invitation only. But I think you could try to reserve setas here. The film will be launched to public on May 4th 2013 This will be the link! https://vimeo.com/60149775 The Trailer for Las Calles Hablan can be seen here: Click to see: Las Calles Hablan Since the death of Franco, Spain finally has been able to raise it's voice in it's new own democracy. Freedom of speech, in newspapers, blogs and long before blogging, Streetart - Graffity - one possibility to share someones personal point of view.
Living since one decade in Barcelona I have to say that the Graffity in Barcelona, it's streetart, is unique. The spirit of Barcelona is that very special and I am sure it contributes a lot to getting that popular among European travel destinations. A place where culture, beach, good food, shopping paradise is combined into that fresh mentallity where nothing has limits. Unfortunaelty the government does restrict since some years this liberal enviremont. But one thing more the Catalan are famours for is their pacific demonstrations, they want to be part of their future and not just assist. There is now a new law which makes it very illegal to create Streetart in public places. Fines are between 750 to 1.000 Eur. I am honestly sad as I can imagine that somehow this blog and Magnetmundo will be affected and we will run out of new material. But still there is hope and brave graffity artist, so the battle is not over nor lost. Today, 8th of March, is the International Women's Day.

Your roommates can play the messages of up to 60 seconds in length on their next visit in the kitchen: A red flashing light shows them that there is a new message. It's possible to store up to 30 memos in three different categories on the Video Fridge Magnet. And if there are messages you think are really memorable and you'd like to save them for posterity, simply attach the included USB cable to your computer and transfer them. Then, of course, you can send the messages via e-mail, or upload them to Facebook or YouTube :). If you often prefer to avoid the kitchen due to that constant stack of dirty dishes, you could just stick the Video Fridge Magnet to any other magnetic surface you wish. But wait! There’s more: Another special feature of the Video Fridge Magnet is its 'Surprise Function', which allows you to play the recorded video automatically at a preset time. Just think of the fun that might be when your face suddenly appears and starts talking while your roommate is cooking!
